More things the big box store photography studios don't want you to know...
4-These studios seem to think that 10 minutes is enough time to take pictures on a busy Saturday. You are correct Mr. F-Stop! It is common practice to schedule all photography sittings at 10 minutes each. So if you bring your wiggly 3 year old down to the big box studio, and you are not first in line, you will have to wait and wait and wait because the secret they don't want you to know is...THEY DON'T CARE HOW LONG YOU HAVE TO WAIT. All they know is Saturday is the big day and they need to squeeze in every person they can because they will have no-shows and they will have people just get up and leave because it just takes too much time. Now the staff is working as fast as they can, but keep in mind, these are inexperienced photographers who are really sales people. They want to get you out of the studio as fast as they can so they can sell you the $100 package they've been taught to push. Also, remember, they are dealing with little children and in a lot of cases it takes 10 minutes just for them to warm up to the photographer. Plus, kids are unpredictable. In either case 10 minutes is not long enough.
