I much as it hurts to remember, we must never forget.

September 11, 2001 attacks in New York City: V...Image via Wikipedia As we go about our busy schedules let us not forget 911.  I know it hurts to remember. We all want to move on but let us never ever forget. Beyond the horror of that day, let us remember what it was like shortly after 911. I would have to say it was the one time where we were really united as a country. Sadly I'd also have to say it has been the only time I've seen us united as a country. I think over the years, all this talk of "Diversity" has served to split us up more than it has brought us together. It seems we are all in our little armed camps throwing rocks at each other because we are offended someone didn't have the proper respect for our diversity. It seems to me we should emphasize what we all can agree on rather than emphasize what we disagree on. It also brings me to the issue of "respect".  I only bring it up because people are killing people for showing a lack of respect. First off, respect is earned not just given out. Secondly, I will individually respect everyone up to a point, based on what they've done to earn it. Now, I am more than happy to tolerate any group or culture but I will not give blanket respect just because I'm supposed to "celebrate" their existence.
