Image via WikipediaNever had it before, not fun. For starters you can't talk and it is incredible how painful it is just to swallow. That was the biggest challenge, staying hydrated even when it hurt so much. Now that I have drugs in me, outside of a cough and I can talk and swallow.
Funny thing, I've never liked the taste of yogurt. But I got sick on the codine in the cough syrup. It would upset my stomach. I was hearing all these gurgling sounds and it was a real mess. But my Physcian's Assistant told me that yogurt was good to quiet your stomach. Well I tried it and I'm amazed at how quickly it settled my stomach. I'm so amazed I'm making yogurt a regular part of my diet. But just to be perfectly clear...yogurt is not now, nor has it ever been a desert replacement for ice cream. So medicine yes, desert no.
I've also noticed that I've lost 13 pounds. Now I wasn't really trying but now that I've done so well I'm going to continue the diet. I'm almost to 20 pounds. I think the only thing is, I haven't been feeling well even prior to the streph so I haven't been eating as much as I was.
Now back to work and onward and upward. It's getting warm enough that I think I can try tennis again. I love playing when it's hot out.
