Silence of the Lambs...RANT

As I get older I get more and more concerned for the lack of morals and values and freedom in today's society.  On the one hand it's cool to support a politically correct group but on the other hand, when it comes to actually doing something to stop senseless violence, people stand around with their video phones filming people getting beat up at McDonalds, on trains, during urban football and basketball games,  but refuse to render aid. And where is all the "hate crimes" legislation in all this? The McDonald's fight was especially disgusting. A white girls gets beat and that's okay but now that she's a "tranny" they want to use "hate crimes"?  As I've said all along, "hate crimes" have to be ruled unconstitutional at some point because they tack on bonus punishment because of what someone is "thinking" and not the actual crime itself.  A few years ago the guys that dragged a gay guy to his death were given the death penalty but yet they made a big deal about "hate crimes"?  Why? Every crime is a hate crime so let's have swift and certain punishment with no parole. I think part of the reason people want the death penalty is because too many criminals get out of jail early. Life in prison doesn't necessarily mean life in prison. And if we are going to have the death penalty, making them wait ten years is cruel and expensive so we need to speed up the process. With all the DNA evidence out there, it is even less likely that they will execute the wrong person. Okay, end of official rant.
