Image via WikipediaFirst off, I'm totally objective on this. Before I went to this concert I was not a fan nor did I even have an opinion on Sting. We happened to get some free tickets so we went. I really didn't have any expectations what so ever. I enjoyed the concert. I like the simplicity of the white stage lighting and everyone of the band members just wearing t-shirts and jeans. They didn't have any corporate sponsor advertising plastered all over the place and they didn't even have a big screen. It was just a song writer on a stage telling his stories. He's a great story teller as is most great song writers. I didn't realize he has written songs for Johnny Cash and Toby Keith. Anyway, I found Sting has a heavy country, jazz and blues sound that appealed to me. Yes, he played some rock tunes but overall he had a much more mellow sounding band than I expected. I liked it. It was an enjoyable concert. Now, I am not ready to run out and buy all his albums but I have a greater appreciation for what he does and who he is.
