This past weekend I went to a church men's retreat. It was good. It was fun to get to know a few more godly men. The main speaker was "just okay" for me but then others seemed to really like him. This retreat was up in the mountains by Flagstaff in a little town called Williams, Arizona. Got to play golf on Saturday, it was a real big hit for me and my partner. For the first time ever, I actually nailed my partner with a golf shot. Sometimes you just can't apologize enough. Thank God he was a forgiving soul. If it was a non-christian I'm sure I would have heard a lot of cussing going on. If it was me being hit, you could probably be 100 percent assured a cuss word or two would come out from me. My golf partner was with one of our sister churches so I'm going to go to their men's bible study just to make sure he is okay.
We were done by noon on Sunday and since I had some time and it was only 50 miles away, I drove up to see the Grand Canyon. All you can say upon seeing it for the first time is, "WOW!" If you aren't a tree hugger when you get to the Grand Canyon, you will be soon. I grabbed many a tree branch or two as I walked near the edge. I was shocked to see just how brave some people are when it came to having their picture taken. People were climbing down onto all sorts of rock ledges to have their photo taken. I'm told it is not uncommon to have people fall to their death every year. If I would have had little kids, I think I would have gone crazy. So if you go there with little kids, buy some chain and tie them up. If not, you will cut off circulation in their arm by holding them so tight. I guess that's all for now but Barry Felt should know that I've gone up in tennis ranking to 3.5 and will be starting an actual league in June where I will be playing at 9PM at night. It will still be 100 degrees at that time but hey, "100's nothing" around here.
Watching the temperature, tennis ratings and golf partner pain levels all soar in the same blog. Hey - What a deal! This is good stuff!
