Well, on the job, last month I came in at 133 percent over my quota so I did well. This month looks good as well. It's a tough environment to get contracts in. Similar to Minnesota, things tend to slow down during the summer out here. Two reasons, a lot of people spend the weekends up in the mountains or go to San Diego to beat the heat. Plus we lose a ton a "snow birds". I was talking to a direct mail advertiser and he said in Gilbert alone, they were down 5,000 addresses from people who left for the summer. Also, a guy who created the community newspapers at the Republic, left the company to become the publisher at the competion (the East Valley Tribune) and the EVT is very aggressive in it's pricing. I've been undercut by them a number of times now.
Also, I've finally taken Pastor Steve's advice and I've joined a men's bible study at Scottsdale Bible Church. Had to find a church were the men met at a normal hour of the day(7pm) rather than the typical 6am on a Saturday routine. It's very good. The lead pastor is kind of like a drill sargent, but I like it. He tells it like it is. Their motto is: "Learn what is right (God's Word), so we can do what is right (God's Will), Because it is right (God's Glory).
