What a great week for Minnesota Sports (after 40 years of losing, Gopher Football doesn't count as a real sport) with the Favre led Vikings going 4-0!!!! It looks like the old man still has that rifle arm. I just hope he can stay healthy for the whole season. If he does, I have no doubt he can do what no other Viking quarterback has done...win the big one.
I'm excited, I get to watch the entire Twins game tomorrow. Whenever I get a chance to watch the Vikings or the Twins, I'm there. I hardly get to see my two favorite teams these days. By the time we get home from church the Vikings game is almost over and unless it's a nationally covered game, we don't see them. The only time I get to see the Twins would be through inter-league play against the Diamondbacks. I'm disappointed the Twins won't be playing the D-backs next year. If I've got it figured right, the Twins will be out here the summer of 2011 playing the D-Backs. I suppose if I really wanted to, I could drive the 5-6 hours to Anaheim to see them play the California Angels. I don't know when it will happen but next summer I would love to see the Twins in their new outdoor stadium. Gotta go in the summer because April and October baseball will be too cold for me.
Lastly, tomorrow I'm going to try and do something I've never tried before in tennis...hit winners with every shot. Actually, it's impossible to hit winners on every shot but I'm going to go for the winner on every opportunity I have. The problem is, my competitiveness might be a problem in following the game plan. If I want to win too bad I might just do what I have to do the keep the ball in play rather than be reckless with all out abandon. As my pastor in church said, let's not "play it safe".
