Big day tomorrow

Or should I say, work day tomorrow. Or should I call it get rid of as many boxes as we can day. But It's fun work putting it all back together. Our girls are moving this weekend as well. They are moving into a 4BR house in Minneapolis with two of their friends from Chaska. You know I really do love Chaska. I think from now on I'm going to say my home town is Olivia but that I'm from Chaska, MN. As for my current situation, it's just as I say in my email signature: "A Minnesotan living in Arizona" and I'll now add, from Chaska. If we get another dog, we are going to copy our friends the Lucero's and name the dog Chaska as well.

One thing I really love about Arizona is how people love their guns. In MN you tell someone you own a gun and they look at you funny and consider you a killer. Out here, it's no big deal. Many people have guns and we don't really have any more crime (when you take all the illegal alien crime out of the mix) than other areas. But we probably do have more stories in the news of people who have stopped crime because they were carrying a gun than just about any other state. And no, we don't have "wild west" shootouts all the time.

Anyway, today I was talking to the guys at work and I mentioned I owned a gun, and all of them starting talking about all the guns that they owned. Pretty funny actually. As I've said before, the number one reason people own guns is FUN (that includes shooting, hunting and collecting guns). I worry more about the people that own just for self-defense because I'm not certain they go out and shoot much. If you don't have the time to go out and shoot your gun on a regular basis, you shouldn't own one. But that doesn't mean I think the government should step in and and deny someone a gun either. Let's face it, the bad guys already own and carry guns. Gun laws only affect the good guys who obey the law.
