Can't think of a good title so I'll call it This 'n That

I've always been a fan of learning. Whenever I've jumped into anything, I've gone out and read a book about it first. I guess I like knowing what I'm getting into. I've always been interested in listing to God-help, Self-help speakers and books. One of my favorite motivational speakers is Jim Rohn. He's dead now but he still lives on with his CD's and books. I'm glad I had a chance to meet him before he died. He's an expert on attitude which leads to motivation which leads to action. Jim uses a lot of bible stories to underscore his talks and he doesn't leave God out of the mix like a lot of other speakers who are basically spewing New Age junk. I've often felt that if only I could be more positive and have a stronger faith, things would get better. Has it always been that way? No. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't continue to strive to be better, more positive, and more faithful. I'm not talking about being so positive that you ignore the negative. That's just silly and that's why I've changed my mind on Joel Osteen. The TV preacher from Houston has a lot of good things to say about God wanting the best for you. Problem is, he went on Larry King and refused to stand up for his faith because he didn't want to come off as being negative. I saw the video and still can't believe it. He had the perfect opportunity to speak out against sin and support his faith and he couldn't do it because it was too negative for him to handle it.
