So what other things do the store photography studios not want you to know?

They require a $85 sales average from each of their photographers.  They in part get that by getting you to buy into the membership club which is a huge rip off because it is only a one time good discount and very minimal the rest of the time. They also don't want you to know they have $9.99 coupon deals that they are required to give out if you say you forgot your coupon. If you don't say anything about a coupon, you'll never know about it because the sale person will never mention it to you because it will mess up their sales average for the day. They will also create a package for you, knowing it increases the chances of you buying over $100. Now $100 is cheap for quality photography. But keep in mind, you will be working with a salesperson who will say anything to convince you these photos of your child are the best money can buy.  Most of the big box photographers, in most cases, do not have any more photography experience that the mom's and dad's bringing their kids in. If you can find an experienced photographer in this situation, jump on it.
