Winter in the desert
Yes, we've been in winter mode for the past month. For us winter is highs in the 50-60's. We will usually have one or two below freezing nights but that's about it. Nothing too severe but you'd never know it by the way some folks dress. It's not unusual for someone to be wearing a down parka. I have a down vest but I've never used it. I've been temped too but it's too embarrassing for someone from Minnesota to show what a wimp they are when we have Minnesota tourists wearing shorts. The first wave of snow birds have arrived with the rest slated to follow after the first of the year. I'm seeing more and more Minnesota plates. When possible, I always find a way to chat with them. I think we have a snow bird family that lives in our townhouses. I haven't seen his vehicle yet. He's a guy from Rogers, MN.
