The church I've been attending is called North Ridge Community Church (www.northridge.org).
Although I'm not convinced they are a friendly church, I wasn't ignored by the pastorial staff and I keep getting "blown away" every week by their message and music. They have a traditonal service in the morning and a "contemporary rock" service at 10:45. This service really means a lot to me. I guess, if I were to pick the style and type of music, this would be exactly what I would pick. If you are familiar with the group, "Casting Crowns" this is the type of music they play. The pastor is a former family counselor so they really work on two things, presenting the gospel message of hope and healing as well as always ending their service with a call and prayer for non-believers to accept Jesus. They usually have drama every other week and a faith story every week. It's only been three weeks but every time I've been there something seems to choke me up to the point where I can't sing (some would say I can't sing anyway so no loss there). I guess the point is, it's been nice to sit back and really worship the way I've wanted to worship all along. Now, there's no perfect church and this ain't it. But, I've also decided that rather than complain about the lack of friendlyness, I've taken it upon myself to greet the people who park in the "visitor" parking spaces so they at least have one person come up and talk to them. Old habits die hard, I guess once a greeter, always a greeter.
