NASCAR Weekend
I was able to score some free tickets compliments of my brother-in-law to this past weekend's NASCAR event. It was quite something. I liked it but man, those races just last too long for me. I think they could cut it down my 100 laps and be just fine. It is not a sports event where you can socialize with your friends. You can't hear anything and you're wearing ear plugs the whole time. I wish I was more knowledgeable about the rules, that would have helped. Also, I would recommend renting out the headsets with the announcers giving you blow by blow information. On all the yellow flags, I had no idea why they were on yellow when I didn't see any accidents. I had to text message my nephew who was watching the game at home to figure out what was going on. And of course, in the great Minnesota tradition, we left early to beat the traffic. Now if I had paid the $87 that my ticket cost, I most certainly would have stayed to the very end. NASCAR is kinda like the last two minutes of an NBA backetball game. The end is the most exciting part. Would I go again? Yes, but only if I got free tickets.
