Call me silly but I think what I enjoy most about my job is sitting down and chatting with people from all over the country. Yes, it's superficial but I can usually find some common ground to start up a conversation before we get down to business. Certainly I enjoy the photo thing but I have nothing to prove in regards to that. Once you've won a few photo awards it's kinda like "been there, done that." I really don't have an interest in photo contests.
Funny, I had a friend back in MN that was so intent on winning a photo award that he bought one. It was one of those deals where anyone can submit a photo and every entry gets a letter saying that you've won. They then want you to pay to come to their convention to be with other winners, purchase your own photo trophy/award and buy a coffee table book with all the winning photos in it. He was also someone that shot with a Canon Rebel. Remember what I said earlier about pros having pro equipment?
