To be or not to be?

Some days it's so hard not to feel like Job. I'm really really trying to be positive in all I say and do all the time. Ran into a guy today who seems to think I'm the most negative person he's ever met. All I was doing was just trying to explain what was happening in my world but I guess he wanted me to go to another world that I apparently know anything about, the land of milk and honey where everyone sits around playing make believe. Well America, am I really that negative of a person?

  1. No, you're not. You're going through some hard times, and some people have been fortunate enough to never have experienced that BUT it can leave them with a certain lack of empathy; or he just doesn't know how to respond with words of comfort.

This reminds me of a situation I'm dealing with right now -- I have a friend who recently got cancer for the second time. I was feeling bad about the situation and it made me cry, and a friend said "it's not about you, it's about her" -- well, needless to say I will not discuss the situation again with that person - OF COURSE I know it's "about" her but am I not allowed to express being upset?

    Hang in there, Dan.
