What's your sport?

Tennis ballImage via WikipediaAll of us who are interested in sports usually get to the point in our life where we say, "this is my sport". After going through all the team sports when we were younger, there comes a time when we need to embrace a lifetime sport. For me, my sport is tennis. I've chosen to put all my energy into it with the goal of continuing to improve and get better. Have I gotten better?  I think so. My serve is 100 times better than it used to be. My ground strokes are more consistent.

My friend Mark was a good high school tennis player, but he never really cared enough to get better at it. It was all so easy for him he never really had to work at it. But now, his sport is golf. He too has seen a 100 percent improvement in his game from what it used to be. I also have friends who have gotten into biking, hiking, walking and running.

So what's the point?  Everyone should have a sport they can call their own. As we get older it becomes even more important to stay physically fit and mentally engaged. Striving to improve your game will keep you interested and keep you motivated. If you want to live longer, pick your sport get moving, you'll be glad you did.
