Image by wfyurasko via FlickrI'm amazed by how many people think this phrase is in the U.S. Constitution. Even the folks on MSNBC were shocked to not be able to find it. Now certainly we do have the First Amendment which states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". But it seems to me we've corrupted the term "establishment of religion" to mean Government should be anti-Christian instead of neutral. If some nuts get their way, every marble pillar or plaque in Washington D.C. with the word "God" on it would be sandblasted away.
By the way, for those who get sick of Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart's version of the so-called "News" on Comedy Central. There is now another more truthful version out there called:
www.newsbusters.org
It's a video of the news of the day with a comedic spin but from the right side of the fence. It's pretty funny. I know I'm going to start watching it every day.
