A special day at church

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...Image via WikipediaI over slept so I went to the 11:15 service at Scottsdale Bible Church instead of Northridge where I usually go. I got to experience their new "contemporary" format.  Very formal contemporary with a band, strings, brass and 75 people in the choir. But it was very good. Pastor Jamie was right on with his message. In fact it was one of the more important messages delivered to a church than I've heard in a long time. He was talking about the free gift of grace and how churches like to put conditions on it before and after. Now certainly, once you receive the free grace, fruit of the spirit should naturally follow But here's the key, a lot of times people step forward and make a commitment to Christ and everybody expects them to automatically change immediately and that just is not how it always works. Once we become Christians, we are a work in progress. So we just need to love and support people until one day when they have a change in heart. Only God knows when that day is and we need to wait on God to fulfill his glorious will for our lives. So all in all, a very good day at church. I was inspired by it all. Praise God.
